The Program, Finance and Administration Committee adopted the Adjusted 2055 Socioeconomic and Demographic Forecasts on June 20, 2024.
These county-level population and employment forecasts were developed for the 31-county study area.
The Adjusted 2055 SED Forecasts will be used in the 2055 Regional Transportation Plan and all near-future planning analyses, including Transportation Conformity.
Adjusted 2055 SED Forecasts
Using the agreed upon methodology described in the Technical Memorandum below, the forecasts were adjusted to account for the latest available Population and Employment data and to be more in line with current trends. The Adjusted 2055 SED Forecasts will be used as data inputs for the New York Best Practice Model (NYBPM) and for the next Regional Transportation Plan. They provide a base for all project-level analysis and a common analytical framework for environmental and technical analysis.
